A little bit about:
Chloe
Here we have the lovely Chloe. Sweet-natured dog, calm and great off leash and on leash. Chloes has been with us for a while and causes us no issues at all. She is calm, easy-going and well suited to a family. Chloe is great with children, other dogs and loves our daily walks to the waterfall with her other doggy mates and our tourist walkers.
A little bit about:
Evie
Introducing Evie. This girl is a confident alpha female who, whilst very friendly and sweet-natured with her human friends, likes to rule the roost with her canine buddies. She tends to pick on other (usually younger) dogs, so if she is going to a home where another dog currently lives, it would be preferable if this dog was an older, equally as confident dog. She would suit any kind of family as she is well-trained, great with children and always enjoys the company of our visitors and volunteers.
A little bit about:
Fuzzy
Fuzzy is a beautiful looking dog who needs a special human to spend time with her and gain her trust. She tends to bark when she encounters other walkers and can get spooked by them but is never confrontational with people. Quite the opposite – she is a very sweet-natured. When not tearing around, she loves scratches behind the ears and pats. Although she’s very shy around new people, she a whole different dog once she’s got to know you. With time and effort she would be an excellent dog
A little bit about:
Nikki
Great family dog she spent a couple days with a family who visited from Tasmania. They took her
kayaking which she enjoyed so much!
A little bit about:
Poppy
Has been at the shelter for just over two years, she enjoys her own company and loves to swim in the waterfall and down at the beach. We are not sure how, but Poppy has sight in only one eye. Believe us, that does not stop her from living a full life and participating fully in any action that is going on in the shelter! Poppy is another dog that walks well on and off leash and is a joy to be around. Always calm and sweet, she is quite simply a lovely doggo.Enjoys her alone time, loves eating coconuts and swimming in the ocean.
A little bit about:
Ryan
Big snuggle bunny like his brother Sabre, family dog and love cuddles.
Boss dog, likes the attention, keen swimmer and enjoys being in the passenger seat.
A little bit about:
Buddy
Buddy is a sweet gentle giant, loves to get out in the water and splash around. He is a gentleman with a cheeky curiosity. He has a sensitive nature but with the right family this dog will be awesome. Contact the shelter to view and for more information!
A little bit about:
Koochie
Koochie arrived at the shelter in a sad state, but he has come such a long way. With lots of tender loving care, he is now a charming, loving gentleman who is a joy to be around. As he has been in an abusive situation, he is now a little timid and tends to get picked on my older female dogs because of this. The ideal home for Koochie would be as an only dog so that he can continue feeling special after all the love and hard work that has put into him.
A little bit about:
Jazz
Jazz is a calm young female who had had a litter of nine pups before being brought to the shelter. She has a lovely nature, preferring to be by your side rather than hanging out with the pack, and she is just fine being off-leash. She is a real people-dog. While out on walks she loves to swim in the sea or waterfall, and when home she is happy chilling with the other mature lady dogs in their (and Sabre, the mature gentleman!) area.
A little bit about:
YOGI
Yogi is a medium-sized, very lovely looking dog. She is very and quite sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, so any new owners will need to be understanding of this. When out she does enjoy exploring and walks to the waterfall. On some occasions she decides she would like to stay out, but usually just for a little overnight adventure. She loves her food and will wait patiently whilst the meals are being dished out, hoping to be the first one on the block to get fed!
A little bit about:
Lucky
Lucky is one of the rare dogs who has come from a stable home. Sadly, she had to be surrendered by her family due to circumstances beyond their control, but because she has been so loved, she is a well-adjusted, very affectionate little dog. She loves people dearly, and becomes very attached quite quickly to humans. This is very endearing, but she can be a little possessive when other dogs (or possible small humans) try to get attention from her humans. Having said that, she has been home for a day to one of the staff member’s houses and was a great guard dog and a sweet companion for the day.
A little bit about:
Zena
Calm and collected, super-easy to walk on lead great around kids, Zena is a dream dog. She is very chill and just gets along with everyone! She does love to run free though, and if she does this it is never far from the shelter – being a larger dog she just needs that extra bit of exercise and freedom, which she makes sure she gets occasionally. She is always back by the next mealtime though, so we never need to worry about her.
A little bit about:
Cleo
Cleo is a wonderful wanderer! She has an adventurous, independent spirit but also really enjoys the camaraderie of her doggy mates, in particular her besties, Yogi and Ava. In fact, there have been times when we have taken Cleo for walks, and she doesn’t feel ready to return quite yet so she hangs out in the bush, but she always comes home when she is hungry! Cleo can be quite timid and will take time adjusting to her new surroundings so we hope that her new owners would be patient with her. For this reason she would be suited to a quiet household.
A little bit about:
PIXIE
Pixie is a high energy chicken chaser! She will ideally be suited to a house with lots of running room and freedom to be herself. She can tend to be a little aggressive toward other dogs sometimes, so this is something a new adoptive family would need to be aware of.
She is also great around people and enjoys human company and one-on-one cuddle time. Sometimes when her food bowl is put down for her, she would rather just have a human cuddle that eat her dinner, she is simply that affectionate.
A little bit about:
Teddy
Teddy is our gentle giant! He is the biggest dog at the shelter and is an absolute sweetheart. Being so incredibly friendly and loving, this sweet boy will sometimes just put his paws gently on your chest to say a close-up hello. He is the biggest dog at the shelter, so those long legs can mean he is just about eye-to-eye with the someone of an average height! And those eyes just win your heart every time….. Teddy is easy both on and off leash and loves one-on-one time with people. Even for his size, Teddy would be well-suited to a family with young children.
A little bit about:
MISSY
Missy can be a real goofball and is full of energy! Missy enjoys playing with other dogs and is generally ok with them, but some other female dogs in the shelter push her buttons and she tends to react to them. She is fine with male dogs. She enjoys chilling out and pats and would be ideal for a family with kids.
A little bit about:
Petal
Petal is a sweet-natured girl who is happiest flying solo. She is our alpha female of the shelter which is quite an impressive title! She loves swimming, cuddles and spending time with the volunteers and visitors and is great on leash. She has been a bit confrontational with other dogs, so is at her best when she doesn’t have to share her special humans with them as she is quite protective, however, she is never confrontational with people. Petal currently seems to prefer the company of women, but with a little kindness she would easily warm to guys as well. She loves cuddles and spending time with the volunteers and visitors and is great on leash. She may take time to warm up to you but once she does, you’ll have her attention forever.
A little bit about:
Shiboi
Shiboi by name and shy boy by nature! This gentle boy will take time to warm up to you, however, when you spend time with him this will change. He will shower you with affection and jump up for kisses and love….. He is uncomfortable around strangers so we hope his new owners will be patient with him.
A little bit about:
Tomtom
This young fellow is one of the shyer dogs and takes a while to get used to each of our shelter workers. That said, he does warm up when treated with kindness and he turns into a real smoocher. Because of this, we hope Tomtom’s new family will be patient with him as that patience will be rewarded. Tomtom is equally happy being alone or having one-on-one time with his people. Tomtom loves playing with his siblings and the younger dogs, who is he gentle with. Tomtom would be suited to a family with kids and would enjoy the company of another younger dog with a similar nature.
A little bit about:
Poti
Poti (pronounced “Po-chè)”) is such a beautiful doggy who is just great on leash and off. In fact, most of the time we don’t bother to put him on a leash because he'll just happily follow us back, wagging his tail and having a quick swim in the river on the way. He is always looking for pats and is a fantastic and gentle playmate for our younger dogs, especially the two pups. He is like the tolerant big brother! Poci and his twin, Sugar, would easily be two of our most settled, well-behaved dogs at the shelter. They get on with all the other dogs and they are always happy, easy and affectionate.
A little bit about:
Leah
Pretty grey-brindle Leah is a timid little pup who has settled in well to the shelter. She is fine with other dogs, but possibly prone to bullying due to her shyness. She needs a loving person or family who will spend a bit of time cuddling her to help her to come out of her shell as when she is cuddled she responds and does relax. She is a sweet girl.
A little bit about:
Ava
Ava may appear timid at first, but once she has warmed up to you, she will be your best mate. She is a calm-natured dog who enjoys playing with her friends and off-leash walks. She also likes to hang out with the older dogs and chill in the sun. She is super relaxed great with kids, plus she would get along just fine with other animals.
A little bit about:
Bumpa
Bumpa is a reserved boy who prefers his own company, and he is fine with that. Due to how he has been treated in the past, Bumpa can be sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, but this never results in him being aggressive. On the contrary – he is very gentle. Whilst he enjoys his alone time at the shelter, he really warms up when it is walk time. He walks well on a leash, loves the water and gets on well with the other dogs when out. When Bumpa warms to you he loves one-on-one time. He looks a little sad when you first meet him, but he comes out of his shell when you get to know him, and we hope his new family will respect this and be patient with him as it will be worth it.
A little bit about:
Bindi
Bindi is an adorable, lanky little pup that is so easy to love! She is not shy and just loves it when the staff sit with her and just cuddle her. She cries out just for this when the staff arrive. She is easy to take on walks off or on leash, even though she is so young. She is a little darling that would fit well with any kind of family. She is, however, an amazing climber and can scale the 2-metre-high wire enclosure that she has been left in (well, she can get to the top and is then sometimes not sure how to get down from that height!).
A little bit about:
Baylie
Baylie is a very attractive little pup who is super easy-care. She just fits in with life at the shelter, despite it being a big, noisy place for a small dog. She craves love and attention, and it is easy to give it to her! Baylie walks well with the group when we go on walks and would make a sweet little mate for anyone who cared to take her home!
